Team Adopt A River once again made the scenic trek to the pristine Brasso Seco community to engage in a Water Sampling Exercise. Members met with the President of the Brasso Seco/Paria Village Council, Mr. Winston Maraj and they also met with the President of the Brasso Seco/Morne La Croix Police Youth Club, Mr. Jeremy Salina.
The sampling exercise took place at three sites. The first site located near the “smoke chicken factory” and the second site opposite the christophine fields are both within the Brasso Seco area. The third site, located upper Marianne (home of the Ganga Dussehra Festival), falls within the Morne La Croix Area.
This exercise is another important stage in the building of an Adopt A River project in Brasso Seco.

This photo was taken after a meeting with Mr. Kelvin Nahkid- President of Acono Community Group and OutReach Assistants- Lateisha G. Pierre and Kelisha Ray to discuss the following: the proposal and plans on moving forward for 2018!
The Adopt A River Programme Implementation Unit distributed two recycling bins to the El Dorado East Secondary School’s “El Do Blue Gone Green Environmental Club”. The club comprises the upper and lower form six students and is headed by Ms. Cindy Garanath. The club will now embark on a plastics recycling programme to collect, count and sort primarily plastic bottles from the school population.
