Adopt A River partners with The Scout Association of Trinidad & Tobago

Adopt A River has recently partnered with The Scout Association of Trinidad & Tobago to raise awareness about watershed protection and the need for all citizens to participate in activities that will positively our water quality.

The Scout Association of Trinidad & Tobago is one of the largest youth organisations in Trinidad & Tobago with a well-documented history. It creates leaders of tomorrow through a non-formal, values-based programme that offers young people, from 7 to 19 years old, fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure, and the chance to help others so that they can make a positive impact in communities.

The Scout Association boasts of having a large membership comprising:

  • 3000 cub scouts
  • 1200 scouts at the secondary school level
  • 800 venture scouts who comprise the leadership of the Association

The mission of the Association is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full potential as individuals, responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.

Scouting helps children and young adults develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness, and commitment. Being a scout prepares young people to get jobs, teaches them to save lives and even change the world!
