1. Competition is open to all Primary and Secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
2. Each student is restricted to a single entry. However, schools can submit entries from multiple participants.
3. All submission pieces must be in a video format with a maximum time of 5 minutes and accompanied by the written script.
4. Submissions are to be uploaded to the Adopt a River website via this link (http://www.adoptarivertt.com/rs4) on or before the closing date June 17th 2022. No late submissions will be considered. Once the link is clicked, a submission form will appear with various fields to be filled out. All fields must be filled.
5. No corrections or alterations will be allowed after entries are submitted.
6. Theme for the competition: “MANY RIVERS, BUT ONLY ONE EARTH”. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE THE WORDS STATED IN THE THEME!
7. Video submissions can include costuming, props, backups, background visuals and music as needed for the piece.
8. All submissions will be pre-judged and selected finalists from each category (Primary and Secondary), will be uploaded to the Adopt A River Programme’s YouTube page and names posted to the AARP Facebook and Instagram pages on June 20th 2022.
9. The finalists in each category will also have an opportunity to win a People’s Choice Award. The video with the most likes on YOUTUBE will be awarded the prize. Voting ends at 10:00pm on July 4th, 2022. Announcement of ALL winners (competition and people’s choice) will be made by July 8th , 2022.
10. Content can be sourced on this website. Our YouTube, Facebook and Instagram pages can also be visited.
11. Entries must be entirely the work of the student/school and not that of any work published or performed publicly prior to the competition.
12. The judging panel will award marks based on the following 5 criteria: Content, Creativity, Language, Form and Relevance to theme.
13. All submissions will be deemed the property of the Adopt A River Programme, who reserves the right to reproduce any submission or part thereof by any means electronic or otherwise, free of all encumbrances. Full credit will be given to the author(s) for any reproduced work.
14. Family members of employees of the Adopt A River Programme and the Water and Sewerage Authority are not eligible to enter the competition.
15. The Judges’ decisions are final!
