The Adopt A River Programme continued to support not only the Hike and Plant initiative but one of its key stakeholders as well — the Caura Valley Foundation. The fourth and final installment of the 2022 edition of the tree planting event was held on Saturday, August 6th. It saw several groups and individuals journey to Caura Royal Road to participate in the reforestation exercise.
A variety of young saplings such as Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans), Olivier (Buchenavia capitata), Apamate (Tabebuia rosea), Pommerac (Syzygium malaccense), and Jamoon (Syzygium cumini) were planted.Members of the Implementation Unit took to Zone 2, which offered a more rugged terrain. Once at the area to be reforested, the young trees were placed into the ground.
