Adopt A River team members Dinnisha Rampersad, Audra Francis-Smith and Eldon Coker were on site at the Caroni Community Center on Saturday, October 7th 2023, to conduct a Water Warriors Training with two (2) groups from the Caroni Watershed.
A total of eighteen(18) persons from the Caroni Police Youth Club and TT A Team were exposed to topics such as watershed awareness and management, pollution issues and possible solutions, water facts, water conservation, a demonstration on the steps for water quality sampling and testing, and analyzing results. Participants were quite eager to learn and keen to partake in the testing.
Moving forward, each group trained will begin to monitor and conduct monthly testing of various sites within the watershed, guided by the AARP Team. Certificates will also be distributed to all participants. Let’s continue to work together to change our relationship with nature from degradation to restoration. Let’s save our rivers, watersheds and environment!!!
