The International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) is the largest one-day clean-up event in the world! The goal is to gather and document various types of waste that’s been littering our shores and waterways. This amazing event occurs in September annually across the globe, bringing together various groups and people of all ages, from all walks of life.
The Trinidad and Tobago arm of the ICC invited organisations and individuals from across our twin island republic, to remove trash and debris from our beaches, rivers and waterways, in an effort towards creating healthier watersheds and by extension a healthier environment. Tons of plastic and glass recepticles were removed along with old fishing nets, metal items and appliances.
The Adopt A River Programme was pleased to partner with ICC on this initiative along with other partners and hundreds of volunteers on Saturday, September 16th, 2023. Check out our team in action at Balandra Beach!
